Quilts Actually… making modern fabric heirlooms for you!
I am a former Army helicopter pilot turned stay at home mom and quilter. I knew quilting had moved from hobby to obsession when I had a Singer 221 Featherweight sent to me while I was deployed to Afghanistan. Since then, sewing has been a creative outlet and stress reliever while in the Army and out. I am a longarm quilter, pattern designer, and quilting instructor in New York.
If you would like to see some of my projects, I blog at QA Creations.
Quilting appeals to me differently than to many others probably… I love the math of design and the precision of machine quilting.
I use an APQS Millennium to both freehand and computer quilt depending on what the quilt and customer calls for. I am inspired by the care and decorative effort put into vintage and antique quilts despite being created for a utilitarian purpose.
Every quilter has a stack of unfinished quilts somewhere. My goal as a longarmer is to take your lovingly constructed quilt top and transform it so that it is a quilt actually ready to be used and loved. For me, quilts exist to be used, so I create a strong and well made product that will last through many washes, can be drug around by children, but still look great sitting on top of a perfectly made bed.
I am a member of the Tarheel Quilt Guild and the Carolina Longarm Association. I live in Cornwall, New York and am within close proximity to New City, Congers, Monroe, Newburgh, Westchester, Poughkeepsie and New York City. I also am happy to ship to wherever you are located.
